Besides offering free hosted email accounts to the masses, we are also releasing our webmail server software to the open source community, as well as publishing the Litepost API, which you can use to design your own interface templates. As we prepare to launch the full Litepost developers website, you can sign up on our mailing list or access the Subversion repository for the latest code.

The very software that powers our webmail service can be installed on your own server. Ideal for small businesses and workgroups, the Litepost Webmail Server provides even more flexibility and security, as all of your messages reside on your own servers. This decentralized approach to email offers complete control to those organizations and individuals that need it. Currently a work in progress, you can download the latest stable release of the software to try out.

Coming later this year, the 1.0 release of the Litepost Webmail Server will be a quick and easy download, and installation on a server will take a matter of minutes. Extending our intuitive interfaces from our client-side webmail service, administering and maintaining email accounts will be just as easy.

The Litepost Webmail Server is built on tried and true web technologies, such as PHP, allowing for endless ways to extend the product. And since it is open source, you are free to download, use, and modify the software in any way you see fit.
